From 2020 to 2024, we had the privilege of working alongside AIMKO on many of the events that paved the way for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. More than a creative partnership, this long-term collaboration was built on trust, friendship and a shared pleasure in developing ambitious projects together. AIMKO has been one of our most loyal and valued partners, and the Paralympic Day at Place de la République became one of the defining moments of this four-year journey.

Created in close collaboration with AIMKO, the Paris 2024 teams and their visual identity department, the event was conceived as a joyful, vibrant and highly colourful celebration of Paralympic sport. Its scenography extended the graphic language of Paris 2024 into the scale of the city, creating a welcoming public space in which sport, community and innovation could meet.

The choice of Place de la République was fundamental to the project. As one of Paris’s most symbolic public spaces—and the traditional stage for its major civic gatherings and demonstrations—it carries a powerful history of collective expression, emancipation and social change. We wanted to draw upon this revolutionary imagery—the raised fist, the occupation of public space, the idea of people making their voices heard—and place it at the service of a new message: one carried by people with disabilities, claiming their rightful place at the centre of society, sport and public life.

At the heart of the square, Marianne became the symbolic figurehead of this movement. Overlooking the event, she appeared almost as its flag-bearer: embodying a community united by the values of Olympism, by the transformative power of sport and by the remarkable technical innovation behind Paralympic equipment and performance.

The scenography was therefore not simply designed to host a series of sporting activities. It was conceived as a visible and joyful act of presence—a way of turning one of Paris’s most important civic spaces into a platform for recognition, participation and pride. By bringing Paralympic sport into the very heart of the city, the event celebrated both athletic achievement and a broader movement towards greater visibility and inclusion.

This project remains particularly meaningful to us, both for the strength of its message and for the quality of the people with whom we created it. It stands as one of the highlights of our collaboration with AIMKO and of the long journey that gradually brought Paris—and all of us—closer to the 2024 Games.
