SNAPCHAT x JR

For Snapchat’s presence alongside JR’s La Caverne du Pont-Neuf, we designed the welcome booth for an experience built around SPECS, the brand’s augmented reality glasses.

Located beside the Pont-Neuf, the structure reinterpreted the familiar language of the traditional Parisian kiosk through Snapchat’s visual identity and technological vision. The design had to feel unmistakably connected to Paris while remaining contemporary, playful and purposeful — and, above all, integrate respectfully into the immediate environment of JR’s monumental artwork. As the only infrastructure installed in direct proximity to the piece, its architectural presence required particular care and restraint.

Developed in collaboration with Auditoire, and especially with Grégory Fabris, the project led us through a particularly demanding and rewarding design process. Every decision was shaped by exacting expectations, from the booth’s proportions and materials to its visual expression and relationship with the site. Finding the right aesthetic and ethical proximity to JR’s work became one of the project’s most stimulating challenges: creating a distinctive space for Snapchat without competing with the artwork it accompanied.
